China and Europe are already hard at work creating new industries, clean energy products and electric vehicles they plan to market to the world. I firmly believe America has the talent, the technology and capability to not only compete – but to gain market share in this space across around the world.

We need to find the political will to win the war on climate change.

Turning Climate Risks Into Opportunity

  • I support federal funding for advanced vehicle and renewable fuel technologies to help foster U.S. innovation and economic superiority

  • I support funding to protect the Great Lakes watershed from forever chemicals, like PFAS and invasive species to protect the livelihoods and health of the millions who rely on the region’s water supply

  • I will make sure Enbridge Energy, which operates Line 5 through the Mackinaw Straights, builds the underground tunnel to protect our Great Lakes as promised, or shut down Line 5

  • Support our domestic auto industry by working together with the EPA to reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from cars, trucks and factories, while helping expand our nation’s renewable electric grid and network of EV charging infrastructure

And finally, I will ban ALL drilling for oil and gas in the Great Lakes – full stop – unlike my opponent Lisa McClain who voted last year to allow drilling in the Great Lakes.
